Springtime
Love is in the air
Love is everywhere
Even with a cat and puppy.....
Yes, she is cleaning his face.
And yes, she has her claws out to make him hold still.
I think he likes it...
"Hold still you naughty baby....what a kitten, always trying to get away. Well, I'm the mama cat and I say hold still!"
"Or else."

Tibby: "Don't look so happy about it."
Dhali: "I can't help it!!!"
Dhali: "Mmm, my bubbles taste yummy.
Tibby: "That's gross. Stop eating the bubbles."
Dhali: "I can't help it! They're jumping into my mouth!"

Bath Time For Ellie
"You gonna do what?"
Ellie had a bath today! She takes everything in stride. No problems in the bath. She did just fine - didn't even whine or try to get out. Then I brushed and brushed and brushed. OUTSIDE!
She's funny! Rolling around and playing with me.
Very interesting to see how the other (shedding) side lives. Yeeeessss. Interesting. Do they ever stop shedding?!?!? That is 1/10th of the fur I brushed, combed and rubbed off of Ellie. She still has a lot of loose fur. Wow. I will never complain about brushing Tibby again.

Our Day
Tibby and I had a great day.
First we slept in. Then Tibby and Catty lounged on the deck in the warm sun. I took some cute pictures of them soaking up the rays. Tibby played with her indestructible treat ball in the basement for a while. She is hilarious with it! I have to get a video, it's SO funny.
Then Tibby and I went for a really, really long hike. We didn't have any where to be all day, so we just took our time and enjoyed being away from everything. I wish I could say it was warm, but it wasn't! The wind was strong, even when we were sheltered by trees.
We even practiced some of our exercises for Daisy Peel's class. The crosses on the flat weren't really 'on the flat' more 'on the side of a hill' :P
When we came back home I gave Tibby a nice warm bath.
Then she had after bath crazies.
After that I brushed and blow dried her to perfection!
Tibby? Tibby? I haven't heard a peep out of her for hours! This is the quietest evening we have had in weeks - wish we could do this every day!

Recirculating Bather - You Should Have This Too
This is something every dog owner and definitely every Tibetan Terrier owner should have. It is the MOST amazing thing I have ever used. And bonus! I made it myself!
So what is it?!?!
It's a recirculating bather. Basically a pump that circulates the bath water and sprays it over your dog. Why is it so amazing? Well, I used much less water bathing Tibby with the recirc. bather. She came out super, super soft and extremely clean. Like she has NEVER been this clean EVER.
Here it is in the tub all ready to use. So wanna make your own?
You will need:
One 1/4 hp utility pump
A short (6 foot or so) leader hose or connector hose
One spray nozzle
You can see I duct taped the spray nozzle, so it will stay open all the time. I also put a rubber mat on the tub bottom, so the pump wouldn't make SO much noise.
Then simply fill your tub with warm water. Add some shampoo to the water. Add dog. :) Turn on pump. Spray dog. It's very relaxing. Tibby leaned into the spray.
Then drain tub. Rinse dog with clean water. I have a spray head on my shower, so I used that.
Then re-fill tub. Put conditioner on dog. Turn recirc. pump on and DEEP condition. Then turn pump off. Drain tub and rinse dog with clean water.
Tibby liked it and I thought it was amazing!
These are the before pictures. Tibby doesn't LOOK that dirty, but she was SO dirty. And getting matty too :( I think the detangler I was using was too greasy. Her fur just felt nasty.
Post recirc. bather bath. She is SOOOO silky and soft. I can't stop touching her fur. It's like the softest thing I have ever felt. The pictures aren't the greatest. We started her bath at 8pm and it was almost midnight before I was done with the whole blow dry, brush, dematt thing.
Pictures today. She is sparkling white and golden. My Mom has been recently saying that Tibby was losing her color, but I think it was just the nasty detangler I was using - too greasy and yucky. And I was using gobs of detangler, because I couldn't get her clean in the bath. Vicious cycle.
These are the products I used. I was waiting for them last night and snatched them out of the UPS man's hands - that's how excited I was to get them! LOL! Last night I used the Clean Start and the Spectrum 10 conditioner and Ice on Ice for the detangler, but I hardly needed any detangler - amazing how clean fur brushes SO much easier. Also a wonderful pin brush. I can't wait to try the White on White and Gold on Gold shampoo! Tibby will look so amazing!

Daily Dog Challenge
Starts with "B" 11/5
Bowl you over - as in Wow! there are so many Bs!!
Let's see.....Tibby on a bench with blue sky and blue lake and the photo is shaped like a ball!
My first attempt was Tibby in the bath wearing a bonny Scottish hat and butterfly wings eating a bully stick, but this is a better picture.
Tibby thinks this is stupid. I agree! But it had so many Bs!

Tibby got a bath today! I'm taking care of a friend's chickens this week-end. We went out to the farm this morning and Tibby found some stinky poop to roll in. It looked like fresh cat poop or vomit. Yuck! I know!
I rinsed her off with the hose, because she was not getting in the car smelling like that! She needed to get wet anyway, because it was 95F in the sun. We hung out in the shade for a little while and Tibby tried to get one of the GIANT cats to play with her. The cat, Ray, is as big as Tibby. It's so nice to be in the country. Very quiet. No nosey neighbors. If we didn't get tons of snow every winter I would live in the country too. Tibby liked running around off leash.

Someone Had Fun Today
Oh, my goodness! This is how the story goes.....Tibby and I were outside all day today working in the yard/garden. Tibby had a fun day of digging holes and then running away when I caught her digging holes. Finally this evening I took Tibby inside and washed her feet off. They were a little bit dirty. Then I went outside to plant grass seed in an area I had raked and carefully smoothed out. Can you see where this story is going? So I was outside and Tibby was inside - BARKING HER HEAD OFF. Yes. She does not like to be left inside when there is obviously so much more fun to be had outside. Finally I let her outside, but I made her sit on the porch. She could watch, but NO TOUCHING OF THE GRASS SEED!!! At this point I was sprinkling pelleted mulch over the grass seed. Tibby was so good. She sat on the porch and watched. When I went to get some more mulch she followed right behind me and then went back up on the porch. Yes, I was lulled into believing she was SO well behaved. So I set up the sprinkler and turn it on. Tibby loses her ever loving MIND. She LOVES the sprinkler.
This is a dog that hates to get her feet wet. She jumps over tiny puddles on our walks.
She starts tearing through the freshly planted grass seed at top speed. Around and around and around. Running to the sprinkler and then dashing away when she gets sprayed. Of course, she is NOT going to come to me and go inside. Are you crazy!?!? It is so much fun to run around in the mud!!!
Finally I get smart and turn off the sprinkler. Then I go inside and she barks a couple of times and finally decides to come running into the house. I snatch her up at the door and plop her in the bath tub.
I could not be mad at her, because she was having so much fun! It was really hilarious. Too bad about the grass seed.
"I'm dying of thirst! Where's the water?!? The sprinkler? Was that water?"
black socks
"I told you I was thirsty!"
Tibby drinks her bath water. Yuck. Hey she also eats dirt - what can you do?
"I would like out now please. There is a bed I need to roll in."
Can you see my grass seed floating in the water?
So now Tibby is all tired and she is passed out on the couch. What a day.
