Bonfire Night

We went to a bonfire on Thursday.  I like this picture, because it has Tibby, the bonfire and the moon!

This is Tibby with her 'boyfriend' Benji.  Benji would like Tibby to be his girlfriend (if you know what I mean), but she just likes to flirt.  She gets all happy and waggy when Benji comes out to play.

"Benji!  This is a girls only picture!"

Tibby kisses!

Tibby's good at giving snuggles.

Shoot

You might remember that I have mentioned living near a baseball stadium.  Apparently it was opening night tonight.  Tibby and I were relaxing on the couch and the only warning we got about the incoming deluge of fireworks was the announcers voice yelling (yes, I can hear the baseball games INSIDE my house) 5,4,3,2,1 and then BAM! BANG! POW!

I LOVE fireworks, but Tibby HATES fireworks.  Too bad, because they have the best, biggest, brightest, LOUDEST fireworks I have ever seen.  It's a long show too.....

Next year I'll take a video of the fireworks from my backyard.  Hopefully I will be better prepared!

It sounds like our house is being attacked.  The windows shake and it is REALLY REALLY LOUD.

I've lived here for 7 years and the stadium was built 2 years ago......most of the time I think it's an ok neighbor, but NOT when it scares my Tibby baby >:(

It Was Fine

Tibby survived the 4th.
Well, she slept through most of it.  She isn't crazy about being outside when there are fireworks going off, but if she's inside she is fine.  She just flops out and goes to sleep.
Really, it shows how smart she is....if I heard strange, dangerous, gunshot like noises I would go inside too.

Fireworks

Tibby just had her first experience with fireworks.  I live near a baseball stadium and today was opening day for the local team.  Half way through our evening walk the fireworks from the stadium started.  We actually had a really good spot to watch them - standing on the street watching between two big trees.
I was the only one enjoying the fireworks.  Tibby had a huge diarrhea and then threw up.  I have never seen her make so much poop at one time.
She wanted to run away, but she was really pulling hard on the leash when I would start walking.  I was afraid she might hurt herself, because she wasn't just pulling, but running back and forth in front of me.   When I stood still she would stop pulling, so I stood still.  Eventually she just stood and watched the fireworks, but she was still afraid.  When the fireworks were over we walked home.  By the time we got home her tail was up again, so hopefully she will be Ok.
