Kiss?

Flickr Daily Dog Challenge - 260 : "A Little Magic" Take a photo today that conveys an element of magic in some way! Be creative and have fun!
Magic that Dhali isn't moving for a second!  And possibly a cute kiss from big sister Tibby?

I like the original, but wanted to add a little 'magic' :)  You can see Dhali's eye(s) a lot better in the modified one - he looks surprised!

Big Sister, Little Brother

Flickr Daily Dog Challenge - Friendship : Illustrate the idea of friendship in a photo of your dog today!

The beginning of a friendship!  Dhali is nine weeks old today and he has been here for a whole week!
This may look sooo sweet, but actually Dhali is trying to bite Tibby's neck/collar and Tibby is holding him back.  She IS being a sweet older sister and patient too LOL!

Watch Me Now

Daily Dog Challenge - 11/20 - Good Dog or Bad Dog

Which one was your dog today, and why? Creative interpretation is always encouraged!

There is a glint in Tibby's eye that says, "Do I look like a little angel in the pure white snow?  Well, watch me now!!"  Then she takes a flying leap off of the deck and zooms around the yard.  Digs a dirty hole - snow's not so white after that!  Finally she barks, because she wants me to come out and play with her some more.  Bark, bark, bark!  Come OUT and play!!!

One of the other participants in the challenge asked, "So what was the final verdict?"
I explained, "Well, she wasn't good.....not her fault though. Today I heard myself saying, "We don't say the N.O. word to Tibby."
I've worked REALLY hard to get her to tug and someone was trying (very forcefully) to stop her from tugging. After the first lesson our agility trainer told me, "We need to work on making Tibby naughty!" Since then I've tried my best to let her be naughty! It's so hard, because she's just naturally good *insert eye roll* :D

Maybe I'm just weird, but the naughtier Tibby is, the funnier I think she is.  Lucky she has me!
She's actually a very good dog.  Although I don't know what other people think is a good dog.  She thinks for herself, which I like, but other people might not.

Eat My Snow

Daily Dog Challenge - 11/19 - Action

Capture a photo of your dog in action today.

Tibby's too fast for me!  All I catch is a waving banner of tail and some flying snow.

This was my 2nd choice for the challenge.  I forget now why I didn't choose it.  I like this picture!

I also liked this one.  Her ears are flying!  And she's tugging!  Yeah!

This is not action!

That's action!

Outta the Bag

Daily Dog Challenge - 11/15 - In the Bag

Be it the dog or something else... Use your imagination and creativity to have fun with this one!

Uh oh!  Tibby and Catty's friendship isn't a secret any more!  The 'cat's out of the bag' as they say.....only this time she isn't.

Do you have any idea how difficult it is to photograph a cat and a dog sitting in a bag on top of a bed?!  It wouldn't have been so difficult if Catty would learn to sit and stay!  Catty kept jumping out of the bag.  I guess if I was 7lbs and a 20lb dog sat on my head, I would jump out of the bag too.  Now of course, she won't get out of the bag.  Cats!

And a few out takes for fun.  Behind the shoot!

Cute Tibby....and Catty is outta the bag!

Both in the bag....eating treats.  Camera?  Where?

Squinty eyes.  No. Happy.  Lemme' out!

Snowflakes On Lashes

Daily Dog Challenge - 11/17 - The Eyes Have It
Make a photograph of your dog's eye or eyes as close as you can get.

This was harder than I thought it would be.  I kept getting snowflakes on my lens and then the camera wouldn't focus.
Or Tibby would move her head and I would get a nice shot of the ground.

Isn't there some song - snowflakes on lashes...hmm hhm hmm....these are a few of my favorite things.  You know that song, right?!?

You can see the horrible bang haircut I gave her a month or so ago.  Bad mommy!  Yeah I'm not good with scissors.

The Real One

I just realized that I posted the wrong "If I Only Had A Gun" picture on Saturday.
Oops!  This is the one where Tibby looks less than impressed with me.
Hee hee hee!

Wrapped Up

Daily Dog Challenge - Seven 11/18

Take seven pictures and show off only the fifth one. Be honest!

This was interesting.  Tibby wasn't so excited to sit in the snow, but a bite of cheese helped change her mind.  I was worried my 5th picture would be one of Tibby walking off or looking away, but I really, really like it.  Yay for the 5th picture!
I processed it a little bit, so the color is slightly different than the other 6 pics.  I gave it a 'golden' wash.  Mmmm like.

Vintage

"Still Waiting"

Daily Dog Challenge - 11/12 - "Vintage"
Make a vintage style photo of your dog. You can use props, processing or anything else you like to make the photo look vintage.

This photo is brought to you by the trick 'be shy'!
Yes, the stone was freezing cold - it was about 25F.  Ah, the power of cheese.  Tibby will do whatever if a piece of cheddar is offered in exchange.
I was also very brave and took off her collar and leash for this picture.  We were in a lovely furry animal filled forest, so I had a good reason to be afraid she would run off.  BUT she didn't!  Go team cheddar!

"Come Home"

Faithful Tibby waits for someone to come home and light the fire in the hearth.

I, of course, didn't just take one picture!

Tibby was such a good girl.

I think it's amazing I got this much light. The sun was going down and this fireplace was in a dark stone building, but the sides were open. It was a picnic shelter.

Be Shy!
"Ok, Mom!"

I also liked this picture a lot!  Tibby doesn't even look real.  What an elegant model.

Personality

Daily Dog Challenge 11/11 - "Personality"
We all have things we love about our dogs. Take a photograph today that captures your dog's personality or an aspect of it.

Every trail is Tibby's catwalk.  Tibby struts her stuff and woos squirrels from the trees.

~

Tibby has SO much personality!  It was hard to decide on what kind of picture to take.  Rolling on her back?  Chasing Catty?  Zooming?  Sleeping?
If she didn't have so much personality I wouldn't have so many pictures of her!  Right?  ha ha

"I will have cheese....cheeeeese."

"Strolling along, with a leaf on my chin....life is just a walk in the woods."

"Come on Mom!  Just one more trail!"

I took all of these pictures on the same day.  It's interesting to see the different types of habitat (?) we walk through.  Grassy fields, pine forest, leafy tree forest.

Orange or If I Only Had A Gun

"Knock, Knock Orange"

Daily Dog Challenge - 11/13 - "Color My World"
Choose a color and feature it in your photo. It can be a color in nature or some kind of prop or indoor background.
"Knock, Knock!
Who's there?
Banana.
Banana who?
Knock, Knock!
Who's there?
Banana.
Banana who?
Knock, Knock!
Who's there?
Orange.
Orange who?
Orange ya glad I didn't say banana again?!"
Tibby would be happy if she didn't have to wear this hat ever again.  Actually she doesn't mind.
Hat = Cheese.  Therefore hat is GOOD.

"If I Only Had A Gun"

Orange!
I took so many pictures of Tibby in different places with my hat on her head, that she started to look bare without it.

As usual, I was torn between 2 different pictures, but I ended up choosing the Knock, Knock Orange one instead of the If I Only Had A Gun, because the orange leaves show up better and it's just a better colored photo.
Although I do like Tibby's expression in this shot!! Maybe I shouldn't mention shots or shooting! LOL!!

Waving Grains

Daily Dog Challenge - 11/16 - "Framed"
Use a window or door, or some other natural element to frame a picture of your dog

Bench + Tibby = Frame  I wanted to get more of the bench and make a better frame, but it was super, duper cold on top of the hill.  My fingers were getting frozen!  This was the only shot where Tibby was looking at the camera, so here it is :)
I left in the stones on the right side - I thought it added depth and perspective.

Mystery and Mice

'Nancy Pup'

Daily Dog Challenge - "Mystery"
Another case closed for Nancy Pup aka Tibby the Tibetan Terrier.
The scary noises in the shed?  Mice.  The mice?  Snackies.
Case closed.

'Crackers Case'

Tibby P.I. on the case of the missing crackers.
Wearing her trusty trench coat Tibby P.I. investigates the abandoned factory - sniffing out crime in ever nook and cranny.  Her objective?  Find the missing crackers.....then case closed and time for a snack.  Perhaps, crackers?
Daily Dog Challenge "Mystery"

And if anyone is wondering what Tibby actually thinks about mice.....
Do
Not
Look
If
You
Don't
Want
To
See
A
Dead
Mouse

Ok, it's kind of hard to see, but Tibby found an already dead mouse in the woods today.   It was freshly killed.  Maybe we scared the killer away?

She sniffy-sniffed it, but I got her moving and she forgot about it.  Yes, she tried to kill one once.  It was in her mouth (several times), before I could get it away from her.  So mice beware!  Stay away!

Blue and Blue Too

'Blue'

Above is my entry in the Daily Dog Challenge for the "Rule of Thirds".  I had to go look up rule of thirds and even then I didn't know how to take a picture using it.  Basically (I think) you divide your picture up into a grid of 9 boxes - 2 vertical lines and 3 horizontal - and the focal points of the picture have to be on the line or lines.

So I took some pictures and they were yucky.  Ok maybe they had the rule of thirds? but the contrast was wrong, too dark, ect.  Soooo I finally figured out how to use the photo processing program on my computer.  Ta da!  Above picture.  Details in the branches, light patterns on the ground and Tibby's face all appeared.  Will this make me a better photographer?  I'm on the fence.  Before I had to do a good job of taking the picture and what you saw was what you got, but now I can fiddle with a so-so picture and make it better.

Anyway.
I completed the challenge.

Below was my other picture.  I didn't get a chance to fiddle with it as much, but I liked it better, even though the horizon is crooked.  Or maybe because the horizon is crooked.  It draws the eye to Tibby.  All lines point to Tibby.   And I like how she blends into the ground, except for her pink collar.

Bark

Daily Dog Challenge
Plain Background 11/6

Hope this is a plain background?

I took so many pictures, trying to get a good shot, that my camera stopped working and I had to take the battery out to get it to start working again.  That's never happened before!  Let's just say it was a LOT of photos.

Tibby has this thing about leaves.  She's not a fan.  So I brushed the leaves off of a spot by a tree and she sat in that spot.  She hates leaves so much that I could take off her leash and collar AND people were walking past on the park path, but she stayed put.  She hates leaves.

I'm thinking that this is not a plain background.  It was hard to find a plain background outside that wasn't dirty.  I could have taken it inside, I guess, but the light always is better outside.

Bowl You Over

Daily Dog Challenge
Starts with "B"  11/5
Bowl you over  - as in Wow!  there are so many Bs!!

Let's see.....Tibby on a bench with blue sky and blue lake and the photo is shaped like a ball!

My first attempt was Tibby in the bath wearing a bonny Scottish hat and butterfly wings eating a bully stick, but this is a better picture.

Tibby thinks this is stupid.  I agree!  But it had so many Bs!

Daily Dog Challenge
Tongue 11/7
This was such a hard photo to get!!!  It's very cold here, so Tibby doesn't stick out her tongue very often.

Mine

Daily Dog Challenge
Treasure 11/9
"What's your dog's greatest treasure?"
Tibby's yellow wool ball.  She loves yellow ball.
I also took a picture of Tibby with her living precious - her cat.

Tibby and her 'precious' cat.  I'm not sure if Tibby realizes that Catty is an animal.  She might think Catty is just a toy.  She sure treats her like a toy!  Poor Catty, not an easy life being a dog's plaything.

Restful Watcher

Daily Dog Challenge 11/2 - "We all spoil our dogs in different ways. How is your dog spoiled?"

For The Daily Dog Challenge -- #1 Who me, spoiled?
Tibby is spoiled in so many ways, it was hard for me to pick just one.  Here she is on the back of the couch watching the neighbors, sleeping and leaving paw marks on the glass.  She can multi-task!

I almost submitted the above photo, but I think the sleeping one is MUCH better!  Although Tibby liked all the bully sticks.
