Beautiful Babies

I've got a couple of beautiful babies.  

This picture is amazing when you remember that Dhali doesn't have a stay/wait/don't move!  command.  I think he's just used to the camera in his face.

Tibby's wait is rock solid.  On this hike I considered tying Dhali to Tibby, just to get him to stay put!!  But it turns out I didn't have to :)

"What are you doing?"

"I'm smiling!"

"Why?"

"If you smile they give you their FOOD! And the best yummy things come from the table.">

"So you have to show your teeth??? I thought that was rude???" >

"Not to humans. They like to see teeth. It means they're happy. And then they give you yummy FOOD!!!"

"Hmmm....humans are strange."

"I'm glad I have a big sister to tell me the human secrets."

Cute-ty Clover

Tibby and Dhali are really starting to play together now.  Tibby is having fun and she's gaining a lot of confidence.  For instance, she played with a feather (so scary!) and ran on the grass to get Dhali to play with her.  She's also getting more interested when I play with Dhali.  I wouldn't say she's jealous, but she comes over and wants to be held. 

Dhali decided to pierce my ear today.  It bled a lot, but he was having fun playing with me, so it's ok.

He's busy, busy, busy and so fun to play with and just watch too.

I took him to work for a visit today.  He was passed around and held by a bunch of different people.  He played tug with me and one other person.  He ate treats from a new person and zoomed around looking at everything.  He also figured out how to open his carrier bag!  Naughty!  LOL!  Escaping puppy!

It's so nice a cool here today/tonight and we have spent most of the day outside.  Except I took a little nap....Dhali wouldn't go to sleep last night!  So I only got about 5 hours of sleep. 

He decided today that the bunnies are fun to chase.  The buns are much faster than Dhali, so he didn't even get close to catching them, but now he and Tibby get locked out of the bunny outdoor play area.  He has a lot of prey drive.  But he's learned to be respectful of Catty.  She finally! figured out that she can use her claws and get him to leave her alone.  He needs a reminder, but if she hisses he cowers and backs away, so I guess he got the message!

"Nope, not looking at you."

"What puppy?"

"I don't see a puppy?"

"Nope, no puppy over here."

"Oh, that puppy?"

Someday I will get a picture with BOTH of them looking at the camera!

Naming Issues

Ahhhh!  I need some help!

My Mom is saying that she will refuse to call the new puppy Dhali.  And that it is a horrible name.  She is hassling me a lot.

She likes the name Duo or Bhutan.

Or something combining the mom and dad's names - Scarlet and Diesel.  Soooo LetGas???  LOL!!  Just kidding!  Or Dilet?  Or Selet?  Or Carel?

I don't think so.

This is WAY harder than when I named Tibby.

I like Dhali!  So what if it sounds like Dolly.  There are lots of names that are girl/boy names.  It's getting frustrating, because every conversation ends with a fight discussion about puppy names.

Puppy Open House

Meet the new puppy!  So much personality!

Today I went to a puppy open house to meet the new member of our family.

It was so much fun!  So much cute puppiness!

"Diesel" the Daddy.  Oh my, I LOVE this dog!  I hope the puppy takes after his daddy.  Such a fun, happy, playful dog.  Seriously LOVE him - would take him home is a second LOL!!

The puppies - 5 boys, 1 girl. The girl is in the very center head pointing toward the top of the picture.  My boy is on the left - of the two pups playing with the toy.

Very relaxed.  Puppies are hard work!  She is very fine boned and delicate.

Ready for some fun!  Like opening the screen door - which he did!  Awesome dog :)

Sleepy.  We played with them and then they had a snack at the milk bar.  After that they all went to sleep.

I'm so glad I didn't have to choose.  I don't know how any one can choose between them!  They are all so perfect.

What Do You Mean, Big Sister?

Surprise!  Tibby's going to be a big sister!

He was born May 21st.  I was on the list for a Fall litter, but Tuesday evening news arrived that I could move to this litter instead.  Yay!  When I started looking for Tibby's sibling, I wanted a summer puppy, so everything is working out perfectly.  I get to meet him tomorrow!  Very exciting :)

"You're doing what!?!"

I've never had a male puppy/dog, so this will be something new.  That is the only thing I'm nervous about - silly.

Also, hopefully Ellie finds a home before the 15th of July!!  I literally picked Ellie up and then got the email about the puppy.  Not sure I can do foster dog, Tibby AND puppy.  I guess we will see if I can!
