First Time Away and Ice Cream

I picked Dhali and Tibby up from their overnight stay tonight.  It was Dhali's first time staying away from home.  I think it will be their first and last time at this place.  I don't want to say where it was, because it is a very nice place and if it's what you like then you would be very happy, but for my dogs it wasn't a perfect fit. I just like Woof Dah better.
Yeah, there are a lot of dogs running around at Woof Dah, but it works better for Tibby (have to see for Dhali).
Unfortunately they don't take un-neutered dogs or dogs under 15lbs, so Dhali has some growing to do before he can try Woof Dah out.

If I'm going to pay $255 for 35 hours of care then I want someone to be with them 24/7 (like they are at Woof Dah).
For $255 I want them to have more than 4 hours of playtime.
For $255 I want a report card.
For $255 I want some pictures and I want to watch them on a web cam.

At Woof Dah I know that I can always see what they are doing during the day and I know that someone is watching them at night (sleeping with them).
They get to play 24/7.
Tibby has never gotten in the car, after a visit to Woof Dah, and whined for 30 mins.  When we stopped both dogs had to poop really, really bad.  I think they had been in their 'suite' waiting to be let out to potty.  Usually Tibby gets in the car, rolls onto her back and goes to sleep for a couple days.  Tonight both dogs were wound up, bouncing - until they collapsed after a little while at home.

In an ideal world I could find someone to stay at my house and take care of them.  $255 for 35 hours - anyone interested????  :P

It can all be fixed with a little ice cream!  We stopped for a snack on the way home and Dhali had his first ice cream :)  Here was the post last year about Tibby's first ice cream.  Same Culver's and everything LOL!  Dhali and Tibby say they will be Culver's spokes dogs ANYTIME.

"Mmmmmmm!"

"Hello!  My name is Moe! justkidding!"

And a video of the ice creaminess.  They were very well behaved and shared like good doggies.  It was a really busy parking lot and Tibby did a good job of being relaxed.  I think she has finally figured out the crate is a safe place.

Woof Dah, A Prize and Sleepy Crate

Tibby stayed at Woof Dah from 7:30 AM on Saturday to 7:30 PM Sunday.    As usual, she had a great time.  She was sitting on the same bench as she was last time I picked her up.  I think she was tired.  She was watching the other dogs and yawning.  So cute!

When I dropped her off on Sat. she went right into the pack and started mingling with the other dogs.  Sniffed an Aussie's rear, checked out 2 white Standard Poodles, skirted a couple Dobermans, play bowed to a pug.   And then she went poop on the floor.  Oops!  She must have really had to go.

We finally collected 5 bark bucks.  If you pack your dog's food the right way, Woof Dah gives you a bark buck each time your dog stays for boarding.  When you collect 5 you can turn them in for a prize.  This is Tibby with her prize.  It was the only choice with pink.  Tibby likes pink toys.  The only toy she has ever actually chosen for herself was/is pink.

Yes!  I know I took a ton of pictures.  But people!  This is proof that Tibby loves well, likes a lot her crate.  It is amazing!  She chose to sleep in her crate.  All by herself!  The top is even closed.  She used to be scared of things above her head.  She went into her crate and scratched around, making a nest, and then curled up and went to sleep.  So sweet!

Somebody is tired.  What a cute little tired baby.  And Catty.  :)

Here is Tibby's report card for this visit.  She likes being outside and was tired at night.

P.S.  36 hours was $85  Yeah, Tibby is a spoiled doggie.

Weekend At Woof Dah

Look at these awesome pictures the staff at Woof Dah took of Tibby this last week-end!  They are SO CUTE!  I LOVE them!

Tibby made a little friend!  When I dropped Tibby off I thought that this Wheaten Terrier looked like someone Tibby would like to play with.  Right size.  Right fluffiness.  Right color.  She likes fluffy white boys - LOL!

Look at her go after that bone!  I didn't know she would do something like that.  Too cute!

Awwww!  So sweet!  Like the Lady and the Tramp, but with a bone :-)

Tibby's report card.
Every time I got a second to check the web cams the dogs were all in the Slumber Bay getting ready for bed.  I saw that Tibby had a favorite spot to sleep on one of the low beds.  Last night I couldn't find her for at least 20 mins.  Then I saw her get up and go find the Wheaten (Clover).  Then they both went back and snuggled on the bed.  Tibby's got a boyfriend....Tibby's got a boyfriend....
Tibby is so tired.
When I went to pick her up, I could see her asleep on one of the beds in the play room, from the front desk.
One of the workers went to get her and was like, "Come on Tibby.  Let's go!"  She flopped over on the cushion!  He had to carry her like a baby.  ha ha! spoiled much?

Week-end Trip: Part 2

This is Tibby before I dropped her off at Woof Dah on Sat.  I very carefully groomed her, so there wouldn't be a single hair that was even thinking about matting.  I picked her up on Sunday, barely 24 hours later, and she was full of mats.  FULL OF MATS!!!  She got a week's worth of mats in 24 hours.  How.  Is.  That.  Possible!?!
Oh, well I'm hoping that means she had a fun time.  I think they might be from the sprinklers outside or just....what?!?  How does that happen?   I started to work on the ones around her neck, but she is so tired that it is pitiful and I'm just letting her sleep.

At the wedding with my little friend A.  She ended up riding home with us, because her parent's had to drop her sister off at camp.

The beautiful bride and groom.

Zoe's Mom and me.  It was Zoe's Mom's little sister's wedding.  It was a great wedding!
They had an awesome DJ and I danced all night long.  So much fun.  My feet and legs are dead.  So tired Sunday morning.

A. and Tibby sleeping in the car on the ride home Sunday.

It just gets cuter and cuter!

Awwwww

She woke up and said, "My coat smells like dog."  Tibby does smell like a dog after she has been at Woof Dah.  It's weird.  She never smells like that at home.

Tibby on my lap now.  See A. in the background?

So tired.  So messy.  So matty.

We stopped for ice cream.  A. couldn't finish her ice cream.

"Yum!"

"More!"

And finally Tibby's report card from Woof Dah.  Looks like she kept them up all night!  There is a staff person that sleeps with the dogs.  The human has a roll out bed and the dogs have their bunk beds in one big room.
She always gets 'catch me if you can'.  The number of !!! varies from visit to visit.
One thing that I really like to see is the difference when I drop Tibby off and when I pick her up.  She is very good about entering a large group of dogs.  If you have ever met Tibby you know that she is not shy, but when she goes into Woof Dah she is very submissive for the first few minutes- low tail/head.  She doesn't go into the group all crazy and jumping every where.  When I pick her up she has a high tail and she is running around with her friends.  It is very interesting to see.

Week-end Trip: Part 1

We both had a fun week-end.  Tibby went to Woof Dah and I went to a 'stupid' wedding that turned out to be super fun and the best wedding I've ever been to.

This is a picture of Tibby's food all packed up for Woof Dah.  I was bored, sitting in the backseat, for the 2 hour ride.  Tibby wasn't much help, because she slept most of the time!  So I took a lot of pictures.

Woof Dah gives you 5 Bark Bucks if you pack your food the right way.  I'm not sure what you can get with Bark Bucks, because we have never turned ours in.  Saving ours for a big prize......maybe.  Besides the breakfast/lunch/dinner bags I also sent one bag of just plain kibble labeled "Extra Just In Case".  They sent it home with just 1 Tsp left.  I think I will always do that from now on.  I have no way of knowing how much food Tibby will feel like eating, but if I send extra at least the staff will be able to feed it to her if she needs it.  Also, there was the time when a blizzard prevented me from picking Tibby up on time.

Back to the boring drive.  Most of the time this was what Tibby did - sleep.

Sleep.

This is Tibby waiting for my Dad to come back from the gas station.

Cute little leg hanging down.  There really wasn't enough room for her in the window.

"Hmmmm.  Is the gas pedal on the right or the left?"

"Ooo!  Is this a Kleenex?!? Yum!"

"If I could reach the pedals we could get this baby back on the road.....um, I might be stuck.  Help?"

Fell asleep with her face behind my back.  She slept like this for a long time.

You've heard of bed head?  This is muzzle bed head.

Sleeping....

Resting in my lap.  And sleeping.

"Are we there YET!!!???"

"Yawn!"
