Snow Hiking

I took Dhali hiking today.  It should have been snowshoeing, but I was silly and didn't bring my snowshoes.  The snow was deep and fluffy - so lots of exercise!  We only went about a mile, but it's up some steep hills and with the snow it was tough.  I'm pretty sure Dhali didn't want to go any farther...two words - snow balls.  Brrrrr!  That has to be pretty cold!  The snow was taller/deeper than Dhali, so he had to jump and wade for most of the mile.  Maybe I should get him some snowpants!

It's weird, but the whole time when we are out I'm thinking about Tibby.  So many different places on the trail reminded me of her - there's the spot where she sat for a picture in March, or where we took a picture together last fall, or the spot she chased Zoe, ect.

It's not as bad as if she was actually gone, but I still miss her when I'm doing things with Dhali.  I guess this is my first time having two dogs and I feel a little guilty about not taking her with us.  But the Dr. said she should avoid all possible places where she could have a reaction for at least a month.  We didn't see any dogs today (or people), but I can't guarantee that we wouldn't stumble upon a dog or worse a skier (which she hates).

It's better for her to stay at home, but I still miss her.

Frosty Morn

I took these pictures of Tibby out in the yard a couple of weeks ago.  I thought I should post them today, before we get the snow that is forecast for this week-end :(
Goodbye sweet green grass.
We will miss you.

"Are we going to do something?"

"Huh?"

"Fine."

"I'll be right here, waiting."

In Like A Lion and Out Like A Lion

March isn't being very nice to us.  It snowed the first week of March and now we are in a Winter Storm Warning for more snow.  What happened to the lamb?!?

Tibby and I went for a walk.  It was windy, cold and raining.

See?  Windy.
Also, notice dirty feet.  Tibby was so interested in watching one of my neighbors take in her garbage can that she walked into a pot hole full of dirty water.

Our park is flooded.

The water is very deep.  Yesterday it was starting to flood, when we walked through the park, and the water was about 3 feet deep on the right side of the path.  The left side is a runoff pond - it's about 8 feet deep or maybe deeper.

The road to the park will be flooded soon.  It floods every spring and then after any hard rain during the summer.  Good thing: No cars on the road.  Bad thing: The park also floods, so we can't walk there either.

After our walk it was time to rinse Tibby off.  Tibby is getting very good about 'wait'.  I left her in the tub and went to find her towel.  She didn't move at all!

Even when Catty came to laugh at her (or offer her sympathy?).

Interesting Night

Last night Tibby and Catty made me the center of their furry sandwich.  I had Catty underneath my right arm and Tibby underneath my left arm.  They were both also underneath the covers (4 duvets - it's cold here!).
Tibby also had to go sheet surfing through the whole bed at least twice last night.  This is a new thing since she got her hair cut on Thurs.  She dives nose first underneath the covers and then scoots all around the bed.  Of course, the whole thing isn't complete if she doesn't get me with her cold nose in the back of the leg at least a 100 times.  Catty was not impressed by all this commotion and threatened to leave, but she's lazy so she didn't.  At one point Tibby fell asleep with her head down by my toes and her fluffy tail sticking out by my head!  I like the furry sandwich much better - her head doesn't randomly swap me in the face  -most of the time ;)

In other news:  We entered another contest.  If you want to cast a vote just like our picture on facebook LINK HERE
The contest ends at 4pm Pacific Time TODAY.

I know that Zoe and her Mom would win if they entered this pic, but they didn't want to.
But it's so CUTE!!!

Snow! Snow! Snow!

Lots 'an lots of SNOW!!!!

I'm glad Tibby likes it.  This was very nice fluffy snow (easy to shovel), but it blows around and drifts a lot.  We got 6.5 inches overnight and another couple inches during the day today.  And then 38 mile per hour winds.  Brrrrrrr!  I'm glad Tibby has a nice thick coat.  TTs were built for snow.  They have large flat snow-shoe like feet.  Their feet look like they are webbed.  They also have long eyelashes to protect their eyes from blowing snow and a double coat to keep them warm.
