Long Over Due Update!

I just narrowed the weaves for Dhali today, which made me want to tell someone LOL!  So here is a very overdue post!  Dhali loves his weaves and he is doing great!
Here is a video from last week of Dhali and Tibby (yes, Tibby!) weaving.  Tibby actually wanted to play with a toy and do the weaves as a reward - it's been so long since she wanted to do that :)

We have been taking walks and hiking.  Tibby has been doing pretty good with going out in public too.  She even walked past a couple men in the dark and didn't freak out.  We won't talk about the times that she barked at a fluffy dog and an old lady carrying a box.

This leash coupler is amazing!  I couldn't walk them without it!

So cute!

Speaking of cute...............

adorable!

A Boring Walk

Hoo-ray!  We had a boring walk.  Tibby wasn't reactive AT ALL.  Zero.  Zip.  She saw dogs that barked at her and she didn't bark at them or stare at them or lunge at them.  She saw men and she didn't growl or lunge or bark.  We just took a nice walk.  The dogs wrapped their leashes around me at every step, so it wasn't a fast walk, but what a nice boring walk.

Now the question is:  Was it because of the 1/2 tab of benadryl I gave Tibby at lunch time (6 hours before our walk) that made the difference?  Tibby has been having some itchies due to those stupid ticks that bit her last week.

"I had nothing to do with this mess."

"I'm just supervising."

"He did it."

"You're in trouble now.  I told on you."

Dhali's Day - Waiting And Walking

I took Dhali to work with me today.  Not for the whole day.  When I went home for lunch I brought him and had him wait in the car for me.  It was very cool and windy today - only a high of 40F.  I only had 3 hours of work left after lunch, so he got to wait in the car for 3 hours.
I worried about him, of course, but he was fine.  For any dog that is training to do dog sports - waiting in a car / in a crate is a necessary skill to learn.

It was nice and cool in the car when I came out from work and Dhali was sleeping.  I had left him with a nice peanut butter filled trachea and he ate the whole thing!

Then we went for a walk in the downtown area around the hospital and Dhali got to experience a very windy day and city noises.  He saw a lot of things, smelled a lot of things and walk across/explored a lot of things.

Mostly Dhali wanted to walk behind me and jump up on my legs and rear end.  He loves to jump!  He was very playful and funny.  We had a nice walk.  It wasn't a very long walk - 20 mins, but the wind was really cold.  I hope we can do this as often as possible.  If it's cool enough, I will be bringing him to work with me!

It's nice, because we don't have to take Tibby and I don't feel bad about not taking her, because she is still at home.  One look at her sad eyes and I can't say no to her!

Funniest thing about Dhali - he still will not potty away from home.  When we got home he had to potty really, really bad.  I'm not sure how he was able to hold it actually!

Trying To Take A Picture With Grandma

Hard to wrangle up the troops for a picture with Grandma!

Success!  Although Dhali doesn't look too comfortable LOL!!

Take A Walk With Us!

I love this picture!  None of us are looking at the camera, but it's one of my favorites.

Trying to find some pretty colored leaves to pose with.

"Treats! Treats!"

One puppy, two puppies....

Let's go!

Parvo and a Fall Walk

Yesterday, I took Dhali to the vet for his Parvo vaccine.  It was a little bit scary walking into the office, because there were big red signs everywhere saying, "If your puppy is under 5 months old, please DO NOT let them walk on the grass.  Please carry your puppy into the office.   DO NOT set them down.  We have a SEVERE outbreak of Parvo virus in this area."  and "If you dog has vomiting, diarrhea or lethargy please DO NOT bring them into the office.  Leave them in your vehicle and come into the office to talk to the vet."

So we went in and had to wait again - 45 mins.  Even though we were right on time!  I hate waiting there, but Dhali didn't seem to mind laying against my chest and resting.  He had been up since 6am running and playing, so he was ready for a little nap.

Someone waiting with their black GSD thought he was a full grown dog...again.  Not sure why everyone thought/thinks Tibby is a baby puppy, but at 8 weeks people thought Dhali was an adult???  He looks like a puppy to me!

Had an exam and he did great showing his teeth (we have been working on that), but flipped out about having his ears looked at.  Although, after he had his little fit he relaxed and let the vet look in his ears with out a peep or movement.  He has some big teeth coming in and has lost a bunch of baby teeth.  Mostly in the front.  This morning I noticed that he'd lost a couple more, so now he doesn't have any little teeth on the bottom!  Looks very cute :)

Vaccine was not an issue at all, I don't think he even noticed.

He weighs 15.5 lbs!!!  BIG boy!  Tibby weighs 22lbs, so he is catching up to her.  He's almost as tall as Tibby too.  So 4 months old and he weighs 15.5lbs.  Although the .5 might be from his new leather collar LOL!  It's heavy!

After the vet we went to Runnings and I let Dhali pick out a reward.  He picked a pig's ear.  Not what I would have chosen, but he grabbed it out of the bin and was SO HAPPY with his prize that I let him keep it.  He was really good in the store.  They were washing the floor with a big machine and he just looked at it and kept on trucking after me.  hee hee 'trucking' - his litter name was Convoy....hee hee.

Then we went on a long, long walk to look at leaves and take pictures.  My Mom went with me, which was really nice, because I got to take some pictures with my pups.  I have a lot of pictures to post now!

Tibby wants to show you that she isn't scared of leaves any more.  Last year she would have freaked out about just one leaf on the deck, but now it's not even an issue!

Peeing On Your Beach

Oh, yeeeeah Dhali is peeing on the beach.  We took a walk today and it wasn't horrible, so I think we will try it again tomorrow, maybe.  It was Tibby AND Dhali on the walk, so it was not a fast walk!  They sniffed everything and got their leashes all tangled up a million times.  We saw too many things for me to list them all.  Just imagine a lot of city noise - cars, kids, people, dogs plus a football and soccer game.

Tibby didn't ever have a full blown reactive outburst (like she did last week when we were hiking *sigh*).  At almost the very end of our walk there was a woman with a tiny little dog walking toward us.  I tried to walk faster than the lady, so that we could turn off the sidewalk onto our street and go home.  Unfortunately, they also turned off and followed behind us!  Tibby jumped around on the end of her leash, but at least she didn't roar at the woman and dog.  People get so insulted when she does that.

Tibby was able to walk past lawn signs, which used to be a huge scary thing to her.  She also didn't mind when a guy walked about a block behind us.  She did growl at a teenager, but I'll give her that one.  The teenager had bad/threatening body language - walking straight at us across a street and staring (not in a friendly way - in a rude way).  She's allowed to growl at those weirdos.

"Hold still!"

Getting Behind

I'm getting behind in the picture posting!  They tell me the 2nd baby has fewer pictures?  Poor Tibby doesn't have even ONE picture until she was over 14 weeks!  So Dhali is way, way ahead already LOL!

These pictures are from last Wed. - 4 days ago.  We stopped at a park on the way home from our tour of the Top Dog Country Club - nice place, by the way.

I like this picture, because Dhali is walking underneath Tibby - funny!

Follow you every where...

Run!

Helpful

Daily Dog Challenge
268 - Adjective - What's the first adjective that comes to mind when you think of your dog? Take a photo that shows us what it is.

Playful and cute would be the first thing that comes to mind for Dhali.  Tibby would be sweet and cuddly.  BUT I had this cute picture!  So helpful is the word!
