What's Happening

We've had a nice relaxing vacation.  Tibby and I have taken a lot of naps and snuggled on the couch.  It's rained every day.  Good napping weather.  My Mom ran in a race yesterday - in the rain, 30 mph wind, lightning and rolling thunder.  Yeah.....they're crazy people!  My Mom won first place again.  Tibby is showing off her medal.  Also the hat that she won.

Lot's of hanging out in the garden, mine and my parent's garden, when it isn't raining.  Tibby hung out on the deck and watched me work for a few hours on Friday.  She even had her nice big bed to lay on!

We tried to do some agility, but we got rained out.
It has been really, really rainy.  If it's not raining, it's getting ready to rain or drying off from raining or muddy, humid and mosquito-y.

We had delicious food.  Yummy smoky grilled dinner.

Tibby did a lot of this and a lot of chewing bully sticks.  She has like 7 partially chewed bully sticks now all around the house!

Happy First Day of Summer!

Happy first day of summer!

Tibby knows how to pose.

Scary BC stare LOL! Uh oh!

"You know what I like about you?  You have cheese.  It's a nice quality."

"Soak it all in.  I'm beautiful.  That's right. Diva power!"

We took the posing pictures yesterday.  Good thing too, because this is what most of the day looked like.  Rain.
Also, we spent some time under the stairs in the basement this afternoon, when the tornado warning went off.  Tibby was great about going to the basement.  I put her leash on and she crawled right into the hiding spot.  She sat next to me and she was completely relaxed.  She lay down on the cushion I have to sit on down there and just chilled.   I thought she would be scared - I was!  I don't like tornadoes!

Our first day of wet summer!

Have A Great Weekend!

Tibby went to the groomer's today.  When we got home it started to rain, but that didn't stop me from trying to get a few pictures of Tibby in front  of my allium.

"Um, I'm getting wet?"

"It's still raining, so how long is this going to take?"

As she usually does, Tibby crashed when we got inside.  She always gets tired out at the groomer's.  Also, she ran 5 miles earlier in the morning.......but that doesn't usually tire her out too much.

Awww, so sweet.

And now just a couple of the out takes:

"Yum!  Grass!"

We Won A Contest!

Tibby and I had a fun day today.  Plus we won a contest! And we were interviewed for TV.
We went to a walk for animals and entered the Owner/Dog look a like contest. I never, ever thought we would win, even though I think I look like Tibby. We never win contests! Yes, I am proud to look like a dog - a cute dog like Tibby! It was pouring rain. So not a great day weather wise. Tibby was so good the entire time. There were 100's of dogs everywhere. She didn't lunge or pull or even bark. She sniffed a few rear ends, but that was about it. The funniest part was when I turned around and found her trying to sniff a Great Dane's butt. It was so funny! She was too short - I wish I had a picture of it. Too funny.  Tibby also rode on a bus - twice, but that adventure will be in a different post.

This is what we won.  Lots of stuff and $55 in gift cards!

Tibby thinks winning is yummy!

Spring Storm Part I - Morning Walk

This morning we woke up to SNOW!
Lots of snow.

"How will we go on our walk?"

"Where is the driveway?"

Walking to our park.  Windy again.  Just like yesterday's post LOL!  Except Tibby is wearing her winter coat and not her raincoat.

Our park is flooded.  We had fun watching people who were late to work try to take this road as a short cut.  They would zoom past us and then slam on the breaks when they realized the road was flooded.

Geese in our park?!?
This is the place Tibby was sitting yesterday.  There is a walking path underneath all that water and snow.
Check back later for our evening walk adventure.   I end up very wet..........

In Like A Lion and Out Like A Lion

March isn't being very nice to us.  It snowed the first week of March and now we are in a Winter Storm Warning for more snow.  What happened to the lamb?!?

Tibby and I went for a walk.  It was windy, cold and raining.

See?  Windy.
Also, notice dirty feet.  Tibby was so interested in watching one of my neighbors take in her garbage can that she walked into a pot hole full of dirty water.

Our park is flooded.

The water is very deep.  Yesterday it was starting to flood, when we walked through the park, and the water was about 3 feet deep on the right side of the path.  The left side is a runoff pond - it's about 8 feet deep or maybe deeper.

The road to the park will be flooded soon.  It floods every spring and then after any hard rain during the summer.  Good thing: No cars on the road.  Bad thing: The park also floods, so we can't walk there either.

After our walk it was time to rinse Tibby off.  Tibby is getting very good about 'wait'.  I left her in the tub and went to find her towel.  She didn't move at all!

Even when Catty came to laugh at her (or offer her sympathy?).

Rainy Day

I'm sure I'll use that title 50 more times this Spring!  Today was garbage day.  Tibby does not like the garbage can.  It's big, brown and rolls around.  Last night, during our walk, the street was lined with garbage cans.  Tibby wasn't fazed at all!  She even stopped to pee next to one.  Yay!  I think, just like her puppyhood fear of man hole covers, she is growing out of her garbage can fear.
This morning it was raining.  When we went outside for our walk there was a crack of lightning and thunder right above us!  Tibby was startled, but I just acted like that was completely normal and continued walking along.  She rolled up her tail and trotted along beside me.
Jessie, my childhood dog, was deathly afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks.  I wish they had invented thundershirts when she was alive.  When I brought Tibby home I didn't want her to be afraid of anything.  Of course, it would be nice if she would be cautious about some things like - strange men, cars, eating garbage!

Tibby's Photo Shoot - Day 2

Here is the 2nd picture!

Tibby did her 'take a bow' trick!

This raincoat was one of the first things I bought Tibby to wear.  I'm so glad I did.  She wore it a lot in the Fall.  Now she has actually grown into it and it fits a lot better.  It was so cute when she was a baby and the hood would fall down over her eyes.  *awwww*

EDITED UPDATE:  The photographer used this photo in their advertisements.  Tibby was in the paper!!  And in a mailing that they sent out to people.

December Rain

Pictures from yesterday's walk in the rain.  Not.  Normal.  It was about 34F and rained for 36 hours straight.  Rain on top of snow = ICE.  Lots and lots of ice.  It was a nice walk yesterday, because it was so warm and everything was melty and soft, but today we have snow on top of ice = no walk.  I don't want Tibby to cut her feet.

Look how wet Tibby is!  It was really not cold even though there is some snow on the ground.  I wanted to try out Tibby's new coat, but I also wanted to try out the Comfortflex harness.  The harness won.  It is nice!

There are ice houses out on the water past the bend in the shore.  There was also a guy on a 4 wheeler out there too.

Bridge.

After our walk I took Tibby home for a nice warm bath.  Then I combed all her fur out.  There was one mat on her neck.  I used Cowboy Magic detangler and it came out after I worked on it for a few minutes.

This is a tree that hangs over the lake in the summer, but now the snow is so high it looks like the tree is in the lake.

There is something in this spot that scares Tibby.  She gets very alert and barks/growls.  She never barks, so it freaks me out!  It happened last summer when we walked here and it happened again yesterday.  Maybe an animal lives here that she can smell?

This is a sledding hill.  Very steep, very icy and Tibby ran up and down it twice.
BTW
We were the only ones crazy enough to be walking around in the rain at the park.
