A Cloud Studio Collar and Leash Review

Kat and Amy from A Cloud Studio let Tibby test out their unique dog collar and leash design!
The collar and leash are extremely well made and they look so elegant!

Kat Cloud explains the road that led them to designing these beautiful collars and leashes, " I moved to Winooski VT with the love of my life Matt in 2009. Trying to find jobs after college and just living life as a young couple until Matt relapsed with Leukemia in December 2010.......In April of 2011 Matt and I went to Boston Children's hospital where he stayed a few months for a bone marrow transplant. After returning home Matt was doing great and on his way to a year of recovering from the transplant. During this time we planned our wedding and futures together, including getting a dog that could keep up with Matt like he always wanted, a Hungarian Vizsla.

In October of 2011 Matt relapsed again with his Leukemia and we stayed in the hospital for upwards of a month because he was too sick to go home. We quickly realized the grim reality and spent as much time with our families at the hospital. On the morning of 11-11-11 Matt's mother Amy and my brother did the most amazing thing ever...they planned a wedding with hospital staff and decorated the family room on our floor. Matt and I had the most amazing wedding I could ever dream of, complete with a balloon arch. Matthew B. Cloud passed away the morning of 11-13-11.

Matt's family has been wonderful and comforting during everything. Right before Christmas Matt's parents helped me find a Vizsla puppy to keep me company. I named her Harper after an inside joke with Matt.
Matt's mother Amy went with me to get her and being completely unprepared to welcome a puppy into my life I had nothing on me, like a leash and collar. On the way home from our trip we stopped at a chain pet store to purchase a leash and collar only to find that the options were slim and overpriced for ugly, not fun designs.

Covered in puppy puke and drool I thought out loud to Amy "I could make these and make them look better." Matt's mother is a talented VT crafter and encouraged me to pursue such an idea. With her help we created K Cloud Designs chain of puppy ware 'Puppy Love.'"

Tibby shows off one of the leashes unique features: a carabiner lead.  Before we got the leash I wasn't sure how this feature would work.  After trying it out I have to say it's really nice!  It's very strong and easy to attach to the collar.  My Mom has arthritis and she thought this was a great idea for a leash snap.  She always has trouble fumbling with the tiny snaps on Tibby's leashes, but the carabiner made it so easy for her!  She said this should be marketed to all arthritis sufferers!

Each leash is lovingly hand made by Kat and Amy Cloud.  They use high quality webbing, ribbons and will even personalize your leash or collar with a fabric (such as a blanket or piece of clothing) that has personal meaning to you.  They also stitch this cute label to each leash!   "I love my dog"  I loved looking down at that when Tibby and I took a walk - so cute!

Tibby shows off the curved plastic buckle on the adjustable collar.
They have a LOT of fabric color and design choices - from solid colors to plaids to prints to pokadots!
If you need help deciding on a color or print (and you might, because there are a ton to choose from): Just tell them a little about your pet's personality and they will help you pick one out.  I LOVE the one they picked for Tibby!  It's PERFECT!

Isn't it gorgeous!
I think Tibby looks super elegant in her new A Cloud Studio Collar and Leash!

DogEStylin Collar Review

Look at this!  Don't the colors just make you smile?
Kimberly at DogEStylin was nice enough to let us try out her Para cord collars.
The collars come in a couple of different weave patterns, this is the underdogg.

So, what's a Para cord collar?
Kimberly the owner of DogEStylin explains, "These are super durable doggie collars that are super cute!! They are made out of Parachute cord like the military uses.....I learned these knots while I was in the military and decided to put them to good use in the K-9 world. They were originally called "Survival Bracelets" because they can be taken apart and used in case of an emergency."

These collars are SUPER durable!  Tibby put her collar through several tests....one of which was thinking it was a tug toy!  After I rescued it, the collar still looked brand new!

The collars can be made using 25 different colored cords, so the color combinations are endless!

Kimberly sent one of her bracelets and key chains along with the collar.  Now I can match Tibby!!  Yay!

Kimberly volunteers with a rescue and fosters dogs.  Guess what each foster gets when it leaves for its new home?  A brand new DogEStylin collar!
Oly is a rat terrier and the DogEstylin official cute collar tester.  What a lucky dog!

This DogEstylin collar is extremely cute, but check out this other collar that Kimberly made recently - Holiday Plaid Collar.  Isn't that an adorable idea?!?  Or look at these super durable Weaved Dog Leashes.

Tibby says, "I'm DogEStylin!"

Check out DogEStylin if you are looking for a collar that is:

1 - Extremely durable
2 - Reasonably priced
3 - Unique
4 - Personalized
5 - Handmade

Tibby gives DogEstylin 4 paws up!   (Although she still thinks it should be a tug toy LOL!!)

Dark Dog Outfitters Collar Review

This week Clarissa at Dark Dog Outfitters let us test her glow in the dark collars.  Ok, I don't know about you, but when I hear 'glow in the dark' I get super excited!
Yes, I was the kid that decorated the entire house with glow in the dark paint while their Mom was out.

These collars are excellent.  I can tell that Clarissa put a lot of thought into these collars.  Everything from the webbing to the stitching is high quality.  They're pretty too!  Even during the day, when they aren't glowing, they look like a nice decorative collar.

Here is Tibby stylin' her Dark Dog Outfitters glow in the dark collar.

The Dark Dog Outfitters collar arrived with a little treat for Tibby, which she appreciated and a handy info card about the collar.  Charging the collar is easy: Simply place the collar in full sunlight, under a fluorescent or black light.  The 'charge' lasts for 8 hours.  No batteries needed!
The first day I left the collar in a sunny window.
The next day, I left the collar on Tibby and by evening the collar was all charged up and glowing brightly.
The third day I charged it underneath a fluorescent bulb.
They all worked beautifully and gave us a nice bright glow.

The color is very pretty too.  Bright ice blue! These Dark Dog Outfitters collars also come in a handsome green.  The only suggestion Tibby had was a bright pink collar, so people don't think she is a boy!

Each collar is custom made for your dog by Dark Dog Outfitters using a durable layer of 1 1/2 or 1 inch webbing and industrial strength Velcro.  Not only does it glow it also reflects light for added safety.  If your dog likes nighttime swimming - this is the collar for you!  It glows even when submerged in water.
To clean simply wipe off with a damp cloth.

Clarissa at Dark Dog Outfitters has a five year old Belgian Malinois named Aria and a 9 yr. old rescued Border Collie named Jester. They both have competed in agility and dock diving.

Clarissa's favorite activity with her dogs is hiking. This is how she started making the glow in the dark collars.
After a bad hiking trip - Clarissa explains, "I started making glow in the dark collars for my Malinois. I like to go solo backpacking and at night in my tent or hammock she would get up to listen at weird sounds. It kinda freaked me out, (what was that sound game is not fun to play by yourself) I would have to turn on my flashlight to see what she was doing and where she was looking. The glow in the dark collars allowed me to see what she was doing at night without having to find my flashlight. Glow in the dark is just bright enough to see but without the glaring brightness of LEDs."

Clarissa also makes nylon dog agility chutes.  She is also working neon orange and yellow vest for hiking or walking during hunting season.

I liked this collar a lot.  Tibby wore it almost the entire week and it was very handy.  For example, when she went outside in the dead of night and wouldn't come back in - I knew exactly where she was hiding in the yard!  Her glowing Dark Dog Outfitters collar gave her away!
On the safety side: Now that the time has changed it gets dark at 5pm.  I felt much better taking an evening walk with Tibby, because with her glow in the dark collar on motorists could easily see her.
This Dark Dog Outfitters collar is:
High Quality
Well Designed
Battery free!
Safety Conscious
and
Easy to Clean

I highly recommend the Dark Dog Outfitters collar.

Tibby also gives it 4 paws up!

Oil Cloth Collar Review

Jackson Studios let us review their super unique oil cloth dog collars.  We tried out the 'Headed West' style, but they come in a variety of patterns and color options.  The sizing is personalized for each pet.

Tibby checking out the box with her new Jackson Studios collar.
"This box is cool and all, but are we going to try the collar on?"

Isn't this gorgeous?!?  Truly 'wearable art'.  No other doggie at the dog park will have one like this!

So how are these collars made?  Well, every collar at Jackson Studios starts out as a natural woven material. They are each individually measured, cut, hand painted and signed.
Signed?  Of course!  They are works of art!    The finished designs are protected with a durable, water repellent finish.  The finish coat makes cleaning the collar a snap!  Simply wipe clean with a damp cloth.

They come in a variety of colors and amazing styles, like the Pheasant feather, or the blue Cheetah Print with sparkles.  Each one is hand made and hand painted - the ultimate personalized collar.

"Oh, yeah,  I look good in this collar."

So how did Francine at Jackson Studios get started making these one of a kind collars?
She says, "I'm always on the "hunt" for something unique! When looking for cool collars for my dogs I wanted something more than just the leather, ribbon or nylon webbing which is so common...thus the creation of my hand painted oilcloth collars which truly are "wearable art for your pet"!"

Tibby and I agree!  These are definitely 'cool collars'!

Francine also makes adorable collar tags - check out the Olive U tag!  Love it!
Or these paw print dog treats.  They look so yummy!

Do you have someone on your list that is a dog lover and art lover?
Check out Jackson Studios for a one of a kind wearable art collar!

They are beautiful!
