Garden Clean Up and A Story

I forgot to post these pictures of our garden clean up.  We did it several weeks ago.  Look at the big pile we have!

The Huntress

Now for the story.  A few days ago, while I was at work, my Mom came over to let Tibby and Catty outside.  While Tibby was sniffing around my Mom went back inside.  She watched from inside the sliding glass door as Catty climbed the plum tree.  Catty climbed up 12 feet into the thin, whippy branches, out onto a tiny branch where a bird was sitting watching her.  She reached over, grabbed the bird, put it into her mouth and climbed back down the tree.  She brought the bird around to the other side of the pond where Tibby was waiting.  Then Catty 'played' with the bird while Tibby jumped around and sniffed everything excitedly.  Tibby was like the posse of a bully who eggs the bully on, but never does any of the bullying.  After a minute or two, Catty let the bird go and it flew away.

I don't think that bird will sit in the plum tree anymore!

Garden Grows - September

The title should be Garden Grows - THE END.  It frosted on Wed. and we had frost again last night, so the garden is very much dead.  I took these pics Wed. evening, because I had heard the forecast of frost for that night.  Very sad, because this frost was 3 weeks early!  Next week we have 80 F forecasted again!  Crazy weather.  What a short growing season we had this year.

Tibby and Catty have a new hobby.  Hunting.  They make quite the pair.  I guess the cool weather has the voles on the move.  Tibby likes to get up at 2am (and 3am, and 4am, ect.) to hunt voles in the garden.

One last check on the tomatoes possible vole hideout.

I picked everything that I could, before the frost.  These are most of my tomatoes.  I had some more, but they wouldn't fit on the table.  Not bad for only 5 plants. *sob, sob*  Look at all the green ones! *sob*  Thankfully they seem to be ripening just fine in the house.

Garden Grows

I think this is the 3rd garden grows update?

Some of these pictures are like a Where's Tibby? puzzle.

Can you see Tibby in every picture?

She's in there somewhere!

Garden Grows

The garden is growing!  The plants are much bigger and green, green, green!

"Cheese!  No really, I better be getting cheese for this...."

Tibby was watching the fish in the pond.

I don't think she knew there were fish in the pond.

"Hello pretty flower."

Catty wants some cheese too.  This is how a cat begs.  :-)

"Dog sat here and got cheese - so where is my cheese?"

If you want to see more of the garden click here Garden Update.  Tibby is only in 50% of those pictures LOL!  She sneaks into the background when I'm not looking!
