Now You Owe Me....

Mandatory cute puppy pictures!

Now on to the real story.  Dhali is going through a HUGE GINORMOUS EXTREME chewing phase.  He has chewed up so, so, so many toys.  A mountain of toys.  The toy box is getting emptied.  I would not be able to fit all the destroyed toys into one picture.  Right now he is really into squeaky plastic/rubber toys.  He ate the feet off of a bad cuz.  I did not know that it was possible to kill a cuz with too much squeaking.  He haz killed a cuz.  2 hollee rollers, pear ball, ice cream squeaky, green pepper squeaky, 2 wooly dog tugs, green frog's eyes, big blue and orange ball, orange 8 tug, sheep skin tug (expensive piece of junk, ripped apart when we were tugging), his bear baby blanket and more.

However the most expensive thing he has destroyed!!!

This Chris Christensen wooden pin brush. Thirty-five dollars.  $35.  Yes, for a dog brush.  Yes, for a dog brush made out of WOOD.  It works worked so well and I loved it.  Now I have to buy a new one.

In other news, I have been doing some thinking since last week's puppy class.  Thanks for all the great encouraging comments!  I really appreciated it!  I'm not going to give up.  I realized that I had been lazy with Dhali's training for a few weeks.  I have a hard time choosing what I want to teach him.  There seem to be SO many things that I want him to learn, that I just end up not doing anything, because I can't decided on what we should start with.  I decided to make a dry erase chart with some things I want him to learn.  There are 1000 other things I would like to add to the list, but we have to start somewhere.  It also keeps me honest with how much we have actually trained.  Some times I think we have done so much training, but really we haven't.  Now I have a check list!

My goal isn't to work on every single thing every single day.  But now I know what we have worked on and when we have worked on it.  We are still doing lots of playing and running around and other tricks.  But now Dhali is back to working for his dinner and I hope we can work on his ADD-ness.  Just a stage, but seriously little guy!  The puppy that wanted to work for an hour, now can only do 3 seconds, before he is running off to do something else.  He can't even concentrate on a kong stuffed with Primal Raw nuggets for more than 30 seconds, before he's off annoying the cat, wanting to go outside or tearing apart another toy.

He still is a little sweet heart though.  He will slow down long enough for a belly rub and petting.  He likes to follow me into the bathroom in the morning and sleep snuggled up next to the shower, while I get ready for work.

Cute little bugger.

I printed out a chart from Word and ran it through the $16 laminater (word? machine for lamination) that I bought on Amazon.

Brushing

I finally have a picture of me grooming Tibby.  My Mom took it for me while we were on vacation.
Tibby is a very good girl.  She holds still, 'relaxes' and lets me brush her.  I wouldn't say she likes it, but she tolerates it.

The Weaves! Awesome Hair! Run offs!

We had a fun night at agility class!  At the beginning of class there were only 3 of us - Tibby, Zoe and Blondie.  It was so relaxed.  Then Cort arrived late.  It was still pretty relaxed.  You'll have to scroll down a little to read the rest.  I took a few ( ok a lot!) of pictures of Tibby's hair style before we left for agility.  I think I like this style the best.

"Are we just going to take pictures of moi all day?"

"Agility?  Did you say agility?"

*sigh*

"Let's get this show on the road.  I have some agility to run."
Game face: on

Below you will find our best run of the night, followed by our 'worst' run, followed by a quick peek at our classmate dogs.

This was our BEST run!  Even though it wasn't perfect or anything.  It was so much fun!  It had 14 obstacles.  That's a lot.  It also had the weaves.  Tibby did the weaves!  She did them perfectly, but in the wrong direction.  Oh, well all I wanted was an effort to do them.  We haven't worked with closed weaves yet at home, so all I wanted was to see her recognize that they were weaves.  She offered to weave a bunch of times when we were just walking around near them earlier in the class.  I finally had to stop her from trying to do them.  Someone knows what pays - hmm?
I'm thinking she refused the tire, because I wasn't supporting it?
I have been trying to cue the next obstacle earlier.  It was harder tonight, because she was faster.

Speaking of fast.....

I discovered just how fast Tibby can go.  Waaaay faster than me!  She ran off 3 times in this run - to see Cort.  The 1st time: I had to go get her.  The 2nd time: She recalled to me.  The 3rd time:  She went wide, like she was going to run off again, but then she came right back to me.  YAY!!!!!!!
I know it's hard to see all that - ahem, videographer try to get the dog next time and not the floor.
From my angle it was beautiful LOL!

I really felt like she got it.  Running off - not fun.  Running with Mom - fun!

Here is a little peek at our classmates.  First is Blondie and then is Cort.  The commentary is Zoe's Mom trying pretending to be 'casual' - like we're not taping you at all!
Cort actually fell off the dogwalk tonight.  And then he got yanked around so much that he peed on the floor.   He wears a choke chain and he was dragged up with all four feet off the ground when that happened.  If anyone ever touched my dog like that they would never be touching anything again.
 Just a friendly warning.

When Cort runs - Tibby and I work on focus/attention.  She's getting very, very good.  Distracting dog running over the dogwalk behind you?  Stare at Mom!  Dog falling off the dogwalk 2 feet away from you?  Stare at Mom!

The next part is a little graphic.  If you have young puppies, you might want to take them out of the room.

"Oooo, dog.  That was a rough night of agility.  Whew!  I sure am tuckered out.  Agility is pretty tough on a young dog like me."

And then a cute picture, just so you know I didn't break her!  I just tired her out!
It was a really fun night.  I like RUNNING with Tibby.

Considering that we've been doing this for less than a year - I think Tibby we are doing pretty good!

Brush Your Teeth!

Tibby likes the toothbrush, but really she's a big girl and she can do it herself ;)
