PB Tube

This is how I make a food tube for Tibby.  I use it when I'm training her.  It's great, because my fingers don't get greasy and it's easy to hold on to.  Also, she can't gnaw on my fingers - she just gnaws on the tube instead.

First you take an empty toothpaste tube and cut off the bottom.  Wash it thoroughly and dry it.

Put the PB in the microwave until it is melted and easy to pour.

Pour peanut butter into the tube.

Fold over the end of the tube and tape the end of the tube with duct tape.  The black thing in the picture I use to hold the tube upright.  It's an extra hose connector for my pond fountain.

I like the JIF natural, because it's lower in salt and sugar.  There is still a lot of salt and sugar, but not quite as much as the reg. PB.

They sell tubes specially made for that at the training center I do flyball at. But your way seems to work good, and probably is quite a bit cheaper.

And hide the tube, right?? :) Great idea! I love it!

wow, that is a really good idea, though I suspect my dogs would grab the tube and make off with it! I think I might give it a go with the next empty toothpaste jar I get. I'm thinking I could maybe apply it to treat training with my very fussy kitty and put something gross and squishy and fishy in there.... anyway I just stopped in cos I saw your link on 24 Paws of Love.... Tibetan Terriers are so cuuuuute...
