Boarding Idea Help - Minnesota

I have to go away for 2 nights the week-end before Labor Day.  It's for work and I can't bring Tibby or the new (yet to be named) puppy.  My parent's aren't available and it seems that everyone I know is leaving town that day (so they say.....or maybe they talked to Zoe's Mom about last week-end....and how difficult Tibby is to take care of)!!

So usually I would just take Tibby to Woof Dah, BUT the puppy won't be neutered by then (obviously).  They also have a 15lb weight requirement.  I'm just guessing, but I don't think he will be 15lbs by then - which doesn't really matter, because he won't be neutered by then anyway.....

Yeah...I'm a worrying.

So suggestions?  I want it to be a nice safe place where they will get treated in the manner TIBBY is accustomed to.  So like royalty.

So far I have found 'kennels' that accept un-neutered dogs (really a baby puppy - only 14 weeks old), but none of the pet spas/hotels/resorts accept un-neutered dogs.  I don't think Tibby would be happy with me if she had to stay in a kennel.....unless it was HiltonKennel.

If only Tibby was crate trained to be really, really quiet - I could take her with me....and of course the new puppy wouldn't make any noise at all.   So far he's perfect :)

So somewhere in Minnesota that is safe and nice and would coddle my babies.

Sorry I can't be of help. I'm surprised though that some of the places that usually only take neutered/spayed dogs wouldn't make an exception for a puppy.

I used to work at Dog Days and thought it was the best boarding/daycare place I had worked at (I've done a few). It's been a few years since I've been there but they have 4 playgroups separated by fences/walls based on size and playstyle and puppies just have to be neutered by 6 months.

Thanks Laura I'll check them out :)

Helen - Yeah, I was surprised to, but I guess a lot of people are fixing their dogs at a younger age.

hows about hiring a pet sitter to come stay at your house while you are gone?

I would have a pet sitter, but I haven't been able to find anyone that is interested. Or that I would trust....with Tibby. She's a tough girl :P

I think I may have found a nice place - Top Dog Country Club. I started looking for places that have the little dogs apart from the big dogs. Top Dog accepts puppies as young as 8 weeks and it looks nice. It's also not so far/or wrong side of cites from my house (on the west edge of the cites). Now to take a tour and hope they have openings....
